First Time Home Buyers: under $350,000 Greenwood bungalow in Seattle

Click on blog title above to view listing photos and details of this little red bungalow

Crisp and clean two bedroom one bath home with basement for expansion. Asking price of this place is $349,900 and it offers move-in ready access to all Greenwood and Crown Hill has to offer. Formal living room, dining room, hardwood floors and clean tiled kitchen and bath. Patio and yard.

Of this home's neighborhood, Lynn Steinberg wrote in the Seattle PI, "The beauty of Greenwood is in its contrasts. It's a kind of old-fangled neighborhood with a trendy edge, a place where coffee shops mix with espresso bars, where young families live among senior citizens...In Greenwood, it is still possible to buy a little bungalow on a quiet street without breaking the bank, or open a small business with little more than a dream and watch it thrive in the shadow of chains and superstores... This is a community that comes together for block parties and tree plantings, for holiday caroling and Seafair parades, a neighborhood that is redefining itself as a destination for arts and antique hounds who patronize the growing number of shops, galleries and cafes along the main drags. It sits just north of Phinney Ridge and the Woodland Park Zoo, and though it has its own flavor and identity, Greenwood's commercial district overlaps Phinney's and the two communities do much of their neighborhood planning together."

It needs TLC and plenty of elbow grease, but the bones of this 1911 home are great. It offers an excellent floor plan with front entry, plus a mudroom, open living and dining areas and a good sized kitchen. Basement ceiling is height is far better than most 1911 homes and it features good expansion possibilities. ROAD TRIP: Hood Canal Waterfront for $490,000

Click on blog title above to view photos of this property

Road-tripping this Memorial Day weekend? Here’s a terrific one bedroom 1940’s cabin near Belfair offering 80+ feet of low bank Hood Canal waterfront. This huge, private lot, with another 3 bedroom septic and electricity installed closer to the beach, has the current cabin sitting further back from the water. Down a dirt driveway through tall trees to a bright and clear beach area… this is a terrific find ready for you to drop your premade Summerwood Cabin in or just enjoy as-is with plenty of grounds.

At the foot of the canal’s “Great Bend” Belfair’s been discovered by travel experts like Karen Brown and houses state parks, the Theler Center (and estuary with board walks and more), salt water that warms come summer, and those amazing Olympic views with nearby golf courses like McCormick Woods and Alderbrook. Did I mention there’s a farmer’s market on Saturdays?

Yes indeed. Just let me know if you’re interested in this Hood Canal getaway and enjoy the holiday weekend.

Click on blog title above to view this listing, its photos and more details

There’s nothing like the convenience of living near your kid’s school. I know, because we live within a block of our son’s elementary school. And as our kids get older, it’s great to be that one house that everyone gathers at.

If you’ve got kids at Prep, or future Panthers for that matter, this new construction classic home (built in 2006) offers convenience, modern amenities and great views. The asking price currently for this 3 bedroom 1.75 bath home is $895,000. It boasts excellent views of the lake and Portage Bay, the Cascade Mountain range and more. The upper level can be a full master suite and work or artist studio and more… plus there’s a basement plumbed for future build-out of a Mother-in-Law apartment or simply extra space for teenagers and their friends. This is a great find for Capitol Hill with a 2+ car garage and nice and neat grounds. This home’s just across the gates from Seattle Prep.

Let me know if you’d like to stop by. I’d enjoy walking you through this home,

160 feet of oceanfront here in Grayland with 3 bedrooms, 9 acres and more

Click on blog title above to view this listing, its photos and more details

Sadly, we’re heading home out of Grayland today but I wanted to make sure and tip-off any of you looking for an incredible vacation home to this listing. Check it out!

A half mile tree-lined drive brings you to your nine private acres right on the Pacific Ocean. Sunrises from this 3 bedroom/1.75 bath home are amazing. And with a huge garage and more, there’s plenty of room for lots of big gatherings with friends. An oyster bake on the fire pit of this place would be incredible.

You'll see in the pictures that there's plenty of room to personalize this place and bring its decor up to today's aesthetics. But I honestly don't know if I'd touch that wood paneled stairwell. There's something about it I like. Hmmmm... And just think of the mountain bike trails you could carve out of this piece of land. Fun!

Let me know if you or your friends are interested in owning your own 160+ feet of oceanfront in this little cranberry village down south. It's a good one.

our trip today to Grayland Washington and an oceanfront home here for $330,000

Click on blog title above to view this listing, its photos and more details

We just arrived in Grayland and were pleasantly surprised what a quick trip it was from Seattle. Just head through Olympia, then Aberdeen— and a bit further past McCleary and Elma and you’ll hit Westport/Grayland. It’s an easy drive- no ferries, no mountain passes. And boy, are we in another world here. It’s gorgeous. Cranberry farms and nothing but sky over water. Razor clamming on the beach, oysters and crab...

We’re staying nearby and stumbled upon this house just next to the State Park on 18+ miles of quiet, clean and pristine ocean beach. The 2 bedroom 2 bath house could use an infusion of charm, but its locale is pretty darn good.

Photo taken by me of the trail we took to the beach just this afternoon.

With a large media room on the second floor you can be assured this isn’t your grandparent’s farm house. Plus you’re close to all the amenities Freeland has to offer.
